Eden Park Community Project — “Ten Bring $Ten” Flyer
Role: Designer & Copy EditorIn collaboration with First Media Group, I designed a flyer for the Eden Park Community Project’s “Ten Bring $Ten” initiative—a grassroots campaign focused on raising awareness and funds to combat air pollution in Michigan’s Tri-City Area. The goal was to create a bold, informative flyer that could educate, inspire, and drive donations.
Scope of Work:
When I first reviewed the original campaign copy, it was clear the message was important—but heavy for a flyer format. I worked closely with Delora from First Media Group to refine the messaging, simplify the structure, and amplify the emotional impact through visuals and layout.
My main priorities were:
-
Breaking down complex environmental issues into digestible sections
-
Creating a strong visual hierarchy to guide the reader’s attention
-
Elevating the call to action: donate $10 and invite 10 others to do the same
- Incorporating brand elements, like the Eden Park logo and key phrases (e.g., “Little seeds grow mighty trees”)

Outcome:
After presenting two layout concepts, we finalized a design that balanced urgency with optimism. I made additional edits based on Delora’s feedback, including:
-
Adjusting the logo placement and size
-
Revising the language to say “Tri-City Area” instead of “Detroit”
-
Updating the closing line in the solution section to “Breathe without fear.”
The final flyer was well received and distributed both digitally and in print to kickstart the campaign.

Conclusion:
This project reminded me that design isn’t just about making things look good—it’s about making people care. It’s about turning information into action.
