- Color Palette Development
- Typography System
- Business Card Design

- Email Signature Design
Brand Space Detroit is a platform dedicated to amplifying the voices of designers, makers, and creative entrepreneurs shaping Metro Detroit’s design landscape. Through interviews, visual storytelling, and community spotlights, it brings the region’s creative scene to life.
I developed a complete brand identity system to establish a cohesive visual presence reflecting the city’s rich design culture. The work connected the logo, iconography, color, typography, and marketing collateral through one consistent direction.
Challenge
The identity needed to feel modern and timeless, sophisticated and approachable, while resonating with Detroit’s diverse creative community.
It also needed to work across digital and print applications. The challenge was to create a distinct visual language with enough flexibility for community storytelling and everyday brand communication.
Logo & Iconography
The final logo uses clean, bold typography to communicate confidence and professionalism with a creative edge.
Supporting iconography extended the identity across different applications. These elements were designed to reinforce the brand while allowing the primary logo and content to remain prominent.

Color Palette
The palette balanced warmth, sophistication, and versatility, with organic tones and contrasting neutrals.
- Deep Olive Green: growth and creativity
- Muted Sage Green: a soft, organic tone for balance
- Dusty Mauve: an artistic accent
- Warm Caramel: warmth and approachability
- Soft Cream: a grounding neutral
- Charcoal Gray: depth and contrast
Typography
The typography system combines Lato, Playfair Display, and Reglo to balance readability, elegance, and character.
- Lato: a clean, readable structure
- Playfair Display: a refined accent for editorial expression
- Reglo: distinctive character for standout elements
The combination supported flexible layouts across the brand’s materials while giving each typeface a clear role.
Marketing Collateral
I extended the identity into a business card, a one-page informational flyer, and an email signature.
These assets brought the visual system into everyday use, providing consistent ways to introduce Brand Space Detroit, share information, and connect with its community.

Outcome
A cohesive identity reflecting Detroit’s creative community, with practical assets for everyday communication.
The project delivered a coordinated logo, iconography, color palette, typography system, and set of marketing materials.
Each element supported the platform’s values and gave Brand Space Detroit a consistent visual foundation for sharing stories and presenting its work across print and digital touchpoints.
